Epson Stylus SX200
Before purchasing a inkjet printer of any kind its always best to check the price of the printer cartridges as more often than not the cartridges will cost more than you expected and sometimes more than you can afford. The Epson SX200 is a budget multifunction inkjet printer and these are the types of printers where the cost of the printer cartridges is at its highest in relation to the cost of the device. The Epson SX200 ink cartridges however are not too bad, a set can be picked out for around £30 and that’s for genuine Epson ink cartridges. In terms of functionality the Stylus SX200 is a good all-rounder but excels at print quality and ease of use. The other functions of the SX200 feel like a bit of an add-on after thought because they don’t seem to stand out like the print quality from the printer does. The copier function does have some convenient features however, like one touch copying and PC-free copying, which perfect when you’re in a rush and don’t have time to wait for the computer to boot up. The Epson SX200 does have a weakness however, and that its slow printing speeds. Epson claim its capable 34ppm (pages per minutes) but our tests found this to be a greatly exaggerated figure and in the real world the SX200 only capable of around 4ppm at best. Despite this the SX200 is overall a good value for money multifunction device that delivers on most of its promises.
